Mont St Quentin Oval

The Mont St Quentin Oval is across the road  from the Military Heritage Precinct. Prior to the construction of official parade grounds the oval was most likely used as a parade ground for WWII troops and used to formally farewell troops before being shipped overseas.

The Oval is named after the battle of Mont St Quentin/Peronne in World War I, 31 August/2  September 1918.

I was there on 28 May 2017. The Oval is currently fenced off as part of a housing development. I have been assured that the oval will remain and be used as a sporting field. Pics taken (through the fence) on 28 May 2017:
